Josh is not just Eligon’s paralegal and dedicated Taiwan Representative; he is a dynamic team leader spearheading Eligon’s operations in Taipei and Beijing. Specializing in the intricate realm of global trademark portfolios, Josh’s expertise extends to Greater China, the Asia Pacific, and Asia, with a profound understanding of subclass practices in China, Taiwan, Japan, and Korea, enforcement and customs issues from Jakarta Indonesia to New Delhi India and social media/e-commerce takedowns from WeChat, NAVER, Shopee and Lazada. His practice is a symphony of meticulous trademark preparation, prosecution, enforcement, and strategic management on a global scale.

With an exceptional track record, Josh excels in navigating opposition, invalidation, and cancellation proceedings before the Taiwan Intellectual Property Office and trademark offices across Asia. His approach involves crafting bespoke offensive and defensive strategies that seamlessly align with each brand’s legal position and business objectives.

Before joining Eligon, Josh spent over five years at a prestigious Taipei IP firm where his talent was quickly recognized, leading to his promotion as an assistant manager at a remarkably young age. He assumed responsibility for overseeing multiple trademark divisions and teams within the prior firm, showcasing his commitment to excellence. After joining Eligon in 2023, Josh has also taken the helm as the team leader of Eligon’s Asia office, not just in work coordination but also as the compliance maestro – navigating labor laws, the tax system between PRC China and Taiwan, accounting intricacies and wonderfully complicated national health deduction policies. More than that, Josh is also the guardian of sanity and fun for Eligon’s Asia team. Rumor has it that Josh holds biweekly meetings among Eligon’s Taipei and Beijing offices, where they enjoy great food and talk about Japanese comic books and Korea soap operas – anything other than the trademark law!

Beyond his professional life, Josh’s heart belongs to animals, with a deep affection for both cats and dogs. Alongside his legal pursuits, he finds joy in baseball, culinary adventures (especially with spaghetti and pasta), and the simple pleasures of leisurely movie-watching. Delving into geopolitical matters and engaging in discussions about political topics between countries not only captivates his personal interests but adds an extra layer of depth to his professional engagement.
