Temples in India & Tibet
We maintain relationships with and help temples in the mountains of Tibet and India, which house hundreds of orphans and struggle daily to provide food, clothing and medical supplies.
Proud Sponsor of Khamgar Druk Dharmakara
Eligon is proud to be a sponsor for the Khamgar Druk Dharmakara temple since 2019. In Asia, Buddhist temples often house orphans, providing food and shelter as well as the education. This temple is located at the foot of Himalayas, between Tibet and India. It’s difficult to access, taking more than 8 hours to reach, by bus, from New Delhi. The accessibility – or lack thereof – makes it difficult for the resources of the world to reach them. Food and medical supplies are an everyday struggle. As one presiding monks puts it: “if one little monk sneezes, everyone in the temple catches the cold” (due to lack of common cold medicine). Eligon is proud to be a part that makes a difference for the people living in this temple.
We are grateful for Eligon’s kindness and their continued support especially during the pandemic years when the donations were few and far between. We are isolated from the rest of the world. We have no access to the modern technology or medicine and our simple goal is to ensure every little one has a full stomach from sunrise to sundown. This became extraordinarily difficult when the rest of the world was shut down. Eligon came through and continued their support. We could not be more grateful and will continue sending you the smiley faces from children in our temple.
