Honest Conversations and a Clear Path Forward: The Eligon 2025 Annual Retreat

At Eligon, we believe that investing in our team is as important as the work we do for our clients. Every year, we close the office and bring the entire firm together in person — colleagues traveling in from across the United States and Asia — back to our home base in Atlanta for several days of meetings, reviews, meals, and time together.

The 2025 retreat was a different kind of gathering. Alongside celebrating what we accomplished over the past year, we made room for the harder conversations: what is working, what is not, and what each of us needs from the others to do our best work. Those discussions were candid, and at times uncomfortable. They were also the most valuable hours we spent together. We left with a clearer sense of where the firm is headed, how we want to grow, and how we can work better as one team across time zones and practice areas.

The week opened with a welcome dinner at Jinya Ramen Bar for those arriving from overseas, followed by two full days of business sessions at the hotel and individual reviews with each team member. Between the working hours, we made time to get outside together on a morning river walk, shared a long lunch at Moxie Burger, and gathered for dinners at Brooklyn Cafe and Mill Kitchen & Bar. One evening we traded the restaurant for an outdoor cookout at Amy’s home, where families were welcome and the conversation ran well past dessert.

The retreat closed the way it should — around a firepit, reflecting on the days behind us and the year ahead. It was a quiet ending to a week of frank talk, and it reminded us why we do this in person once a year.

Our team returned home energized and aligned. The insights from this retreat are already shaping how we serve our clients and how we support one another. Here’s to another year of growth, honesty, and success at Eligon.
